Talk about Sylvester - Over And Over / Down, Down, Down

Blackbeard
is the B side Kon's Dub? are there two versions of this release, one with the dub and one with "found a friend" on the B side?
Black_Hawk_Down
The groove is STRONG on this one. Marvellous edit again from Kon!!
Vushura
I like these mixes overall---they have the much needed bottom & punch that the OG mix lacked a bit. I just wished the verse vocals were kept intact. As it stands, we just have a long chorus.
Felolune
Yeah.. for me, this was probably the first time I was a bit dissappointed with a Kon edit.. just doesn't seem to go anywhere.
Leyl
True dancefloor devastation on this classic from Sylvester! Over and Over will never fail to get your feet moving, but don't overlook the b-side, Down, Down, Down is a killa funky groove, wicked clavinet, strings and is just amazing!!
Xwnaydan
Epic aurreal pleasure capturing a moment of disco rawness that cannot be duplicated in this digital era. The stars aligned on this one. Puts to shame the Ashford and Simpson original!
Whitecaster
It does not 'put to shame' the original. Unnecessary negative comparison.
Bundis
I've got the twelve inch, but the song appears somewhere on a compilation CD, issued 'round the turn of the century. Anybody any clue? 'cause I would like to have it on CD as well
Auau
yes, that was a great party, i remember it well. That was the night David DePino showed London his thang.

You may have already discovered this, but the full 9:35 of Over and Over is on a Fantasy Records comp called Disco Fantasy released in 1999 - Southbound ‎– CDSEWD 123.My strongest memory associated with this sublime piece of disco history, is dancing to it like a man possessed at a Paradise Garage reunion party (I think it was at Electrowerkz?) held by Strut to coincide with the release of their Larry Levan CD. It was a fairly intense party, significantly enhanced by the realisation that the bloke flirting and strutting his stuff next to me was no other than Mel Cheren...
Agamaginn
Killa! Don't miss. This record will get you more pussy than a cat flap!
Anaragelv
Best advice I've yet seen on discogs.
Madi
Possibly one of the most emotional Disco tracks ever. The combination of brilliant producers and performing artist makes an epic Disco track. Really worth listening the whole song if you can get into it.
Yahm
This one sided promo only white label release is a hand written numbered series, quantity unknown.
Kagaramar
"Over and Over" surely has one of the most effective breakdowns for a disco record of that time. Around 4 minutes in you can almost feel the dancers of the Garage cooling out a bit before being driven right back up a gear as the mood builds up again. The string section adds a fantastic dimension to it as well smoothing out the raw overall feel. The furious tempo means any forward thinking djs should be able to mix it into some techno a la Jeff Mills style. A glorious record that should work on any floor!
