The Sons of Champlin are an American rock band, from Marin County in the San Francisco-Bay area, formed in the late 1960s. They are fronted by /guitarist Bill Champlin, who later joined rock band Chicago, from 1981–2009, placing Sons of Champlin on hiatus from 1981–1996

Three of these albums made the US Top 200 but the writing was on the wall and the group split in 1977, with Bill Champlin pursuing a solo career before joining Chicago. In recent years the Sons have reformed, continuing to gig and record with Champlin back in the fold.
