How It Feels to Be Something On is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Sunny Day Real Estate, and the first following their 1997 reunion. It was released September 8, 1998. The album was recorded between March 10, 1998 and April 26, 1998. Some tracks with alternate mixes have surfaced on the Internet. Most do not differ greatly from the released versions; however, "Roses in Water" features an extended ending.

Sunny Day Real Estate admired Fugazi's ethics, but dreamed of being Led Zeppelin and U2, bands that aspired for total ing they finally achieved on How It Feels to Be Something O n. But Enigk quickly abandoned that quality after How It Feels to Be Something On: 2000’s The Rising Tide is thrilling in points, but closer to the Jesus Christ pose of Creed than most would care to ever admit. Sunny Day Real Estate (album). Sunny Day Real Estate is the second studio album by alternative rock band Sunny Day Real Estate. The band's label, Sub Pop, distributed the album under the title LP2. Due to its simple pink cover, the album is often referred to as "The Pink Album". The album was remastered and reissued in 2009, with bonus tracks and newly written liner notes.

Sunny Day Real Estate broke up in 1995 when bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith left to join the Foo Fighters or when frontman Jeremy Enigk converted to Christianity, depending on whom you ask.
