Rare Bird were an English progressive rock band, formed in 1969. They had more success in other European countries. They released five studio albums between 1969 and 1974. In the UK, they never charted with an album but charted with one single, the organ-based track "Sympathy", which peaked at number 27. It sold one million copies globally. Rare Bird biography Formed in London, England in late 1969 - Disbanded in 1975. They had a hit with "Sympathy" in the UK but were more successful in Continental Europe where they became quite popular, their sound often reminding us of BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST. A dual keyboard band with Hammond organ and electric piano and no guitar. Bass and drums too of course along with an excellent vocalist.

Rare Bird is the debut album by independent American singer-songwriter Whitton. It was released in 2011 in the United States and nominated for Best Pop Album by the Independent Music Awards In 2012, the song "All I Want to Do" was used in the comedy film She Wants Me with Hilary Duff and Charlie Sheen  .

This debut featured an organist and an electric pianist, but no guitarist, resulting in a moody Hammond-heavy album from a band that would later become more progressive and varied in its sound.
