This is a vinyl record album by tangerine dream for the film "Sorcerer", with music from the original motion picture soundtrack, & IT's on the mca label in stereo & came out in 1977. IT Contains a dozen tracks from the film which was based on the novel "The wages of fear" by georges arnaud. The CD is approximately 45 minutes in length and the music is spread across twelve, short tracks. Mellotron use (including the large Mark V) is also very heavy and should please most mellotron fans. Although I really enjoy this album, the only minor complaint that I have is that the tracks are just too short - just when I start being drawn into a piece it rather abruptly ends.

Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only continuous member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-70s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann. In the late 1970s, Johannes Schmoelling replaced Baumann.
Tangerine Dream has been hugely influential in the world of film soundtracks, and, more recently, in the world of video game soundtracks. The group has scored over 50 films, including indie films, ‘b’ movies and mainstream Hollywood films. While it was not their first soundtrack, their score for the 1977 William Friedkin flim, Sorceror, kicked off a 15-year period of intense soundtrack work. The film was a bomb when it was released. Since then, though, Sorcerer has gained respect as an intense, existential thriller – and Tangerine Dream’s music has become one of their most well-respected soundtracks. The music of Sorceror is episodic. Most of the tracks are 2-3 minutes long – very brief, compared the band’s epic album side-long jams of the time period. Many of them have fade-ins/fade-outs, which make them seem like excerpts from longer works.
The electronic music group Tangerine Dream has released more than one hundred albums, singles, EPs and compilations since the group was formed in 1967. Tangerine Dream's releases have been divided into several eras based on the record label of the time. Tangerine Dream's first releases were on the Ohr label.
