Make Believe is the fifth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 10, 2005 by Geffen Records. The album was considered to be a return to some of the emotionally vulnerable lyrics of Weezer's previous releases, and due to the strength of the hit single "Beverly Hills", the album was a commercial success. In addition, "Beverly Hills" also gained Weezer's first Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song
Make Believe is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Weezer, released on May 10, 2005. Bolstered by the Top 10 hit single "Beverly Hills", the album was Weezer's biggest chart album peaks yet, hitting in the UK, in Canada, and in the US, where it went gold quickly, and eventually platinum. The song also was the band's first Grammy nomination, nominated for Best Rock Song.
Make Believe is Weezer’s fifth studio album. After nearly two years of composing and recording demos, official recording finally began in December 2003. However, the album was not released until May 10, 2005, exactly eleven years after their original self-titled album was released. Stylistically, Make Believe is quite different from prior albums. The songs showcase a much more personal side from the harsher Maladroit and the Green Album. This personal side reflects sophomore album Pinkerton’s main pull, leading many critics to consider Make Believe a more polished version of Pinkerton.

On Make Believe, the answers are yes, yes, and wake the fuck up. Make Believe is a breakthrough for Weezer, a bold step into the world of the two-word album title, with twelve songs running 45:15, positively epic by their standards. Make Believe kicks off with Beverly Hills, the single that revisits the dork narrator of old Weezer songs like My Name Is Jonas, ten years older but no wiser, graduating from comic books and twelve-sided dice to watching the E! channel. It’s a thunderous tune, with an awesomely terrible 1970s wah-wah solo that must have been sampled from Jeff Skunk Baxter.
