Like the album itself, the soundtrack to the 1978 film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is a legend in its own right. Where the Beatles' album was a groundbreaking moment in pop music, the Robert Stigwood film was an unmitigated disaster, an embarrassment not only to the Beatles, but to everyone involved in the production.

Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Finale at the end of the album, there really isn't a hint of disco in the music at all. I think alot of people were oblivious to the fact that it was produced by George Martin, the same man who produced the original album and most if not all of the other Beatle records as well, and its all a very honest attempt at reimagining the Beatles versions with a slightly different approach. Overall, the album is a fun, lighthearted collection of Beatles covers, none of which (not even Aerosmith) comes close to capturing the magic of the original versions. Still, it's entertaining enough and belongs in the collection of any bad movie buff.
