TransAtlantic - The Whirlwind flac album

I'll say it now: this is a great album, but it suffers from the same gigantism that recent Stolt and Morse works suffer from. The album starts with one of the greatest introductions of the last years, with joyous, exultant melodies that signal a bright future. Henceforth, the music develops in the expected ways, with repetition of the main themes, with Stolt and Morse taking turns in the lead vocals (with some participation by the other two members)

The long track The Whirlwind is a stunning piece fo progressive music, that also boasts the glamour of the country, that brought us hollywood. playing and vocals are both excellent, it would have been nice to know just who is singing what, but maybe the ardent fans can tell by their sound. The bonus disc contains three good songs, one naff one and some covers, but they really should not have attempted 'Return of the Giant Hogweed, everyone comes unstuck when they try to sing Gabriel material.

The Whirlwind is the third studio record by progressive rock supergroup Transatlantic, featuring members of such legendary acts as Spock's Beard, Marillion, and Dream Theater. It was issued in 2009 and marked a return of the band from a nine-year hiatus. The Whirlwind was presented as a double disc: the first disc featured the title track - a 12-part disc-long prog rock symphony - and the second consisted of four new Transatlantic songs and four cover versions.

It’s difficult to create a concept album that’s really well done. Green Day tried it twice, and couldn’t keep it twice. American Idiot was good, and 21st Century Breakdown was, well, bad. While there are some genres that do have great concept albums, most bands that do create the best ones are often progressive rock artists. That’s where Transatlantic comes into the picture. The prog rock supergroup had it going pretty well with . e and Bridge Across Forever and then stoppe. or almost a decade. Then came 2009, and Transatlantic returned with their newest concept album: The Whirlwind
