Complete your Swervedriver collection. Pressing sounds good to me, on the Cobraside version from the States. The noise you hear is also present on the CD version, so I think that's just how it was recorded.

In light of the many circumstantial events seemingly conspiring against Swervedriver - and this is even without getting into the old story about their drummer leaving to get a sandwich and never coming back - they never released a bad album. That’s something to be proud of; hell, not even My Bloody Valentine can make that boast.

Consequence of Sound. Oxford shoegaze legends Swervedriver return with their first proper full length in 17 years, a feat nearly impossible to pull off successfully. I would even argue that this is the best place for someone new to Swervedriver to start. This album is sure to end up at the top of many listener's "best of" lists.

In other words, I Wasn’t Born To Lose You represents a musical catch-22 of sorts. And to complicate matters further, Franklin sings in almost complete disregard of his band’s reunion, as if they still resided in the dustbin of history. More importantly, his griping occurs within an album that’s more than worthy of the Swervedriver pedigree, regardless of whatever the foregoing remarks on potency, variety, reunions, and ungratefulness have to say about it. One listen to centerpiece Everso is enough to sway even the most hardened of skeptics towards this stance, what with its effortlessly absorbing lullaby, the heat-haze buzz of its guitars, and Franklin’s inimitable voice, which still to this day sounds mundane and extra-mundane at the same time, a perfect fit for the caught-between, floating existence that he and his.

If you like I Wasn't Born To Lose You, you may also like: Guilty of Everything by Nothing. supported by 5 fans who also own I Wasn't Born To Lose You. Ethereal, Mystical, Focused, very 80s/90s vibes that can fit on a stage with nearly any shoegaze & darkwave band out there while retaining a fresh sound all on there own. Uniquely more than just nothing, they are NOTHING. Daniel Omnibus/S. Wonderer by Sunbeam Sound Machine. Beautiful lyrics and amazing sound.

I Wasn't Born To Lose You' will come out on March 2. Swervedriver have announced plans to release their first new album since 1998’s ’99th Dream’. The shoegaze band, who reformed in 2007 after an eight-year hiatus to play a run of US and UK shows as well 2009’s ATP: Nightmare Before Christmas, will put out their fifth album ‘I Wasn’t Born To Lose You’ on March 2 – the album’s artwork is pictured above. It will feature the single ‘Setting Sun’, which you can hear below. The album was recorded at both Birdland in Melbourne, Australia and Konk studios in London.

In 2008 the band got back together to tour the reunion circuit, and now they're releasing their first LP in 17 years, I Wasn't Born to Lose You, where they try their best to recapture the glory days of 1991's Raise and 1993's Mezcal Head. They pack the new record's crunchy songs with washes of fuzzy, spaced-out guitar and richly layered vocal melodies, but the years have clearly mellowed these dudes-their bite has softened, and the air of desperation that helped make their original output so potent is gone.

Future Ruins Swervedriver are a 1990s British guitar band initially associated with "shoegazing", however their heavier rock & roll style also related them to the grunge genre coming from the . Some music writers considered them to be Britain's answer to this sound. Regardless of labels, the band's mix of storming and swirling guitar experimentation often crossed into psychedelia, coupled with mystical lyrics that often praised the nihilism of sports cars, racing and the open road. I Wasn't Born To Lose You. 20,397 listeners.

British shoegazers Swervedriver are gearing up to release their second post-breakup album Future Rains, the follow-up to 2015’s comeback I Wasn’t Born To Lose You. We’ve already heard album opener Mary Winter and the gravelly Drone Lover, and today they’re back with a shimmering and wistful third single. The Lonely Crowd Fades In The Air has a gentle softness undercut by the lyrics’ melancholic grandeur. Frontman Adam Franklin’s voice is smooth and calm. And the track’s accompanying video is made up of archived footage overlaid with muted, psychedelic frames of the band.
