Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto(坂本龍一) is a collaboration project between the German minimal artist Carsten Nicolai and the famous Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. Alva Noto processes the sounds from Sakamoto's piano, creating a mixture of solo piano and glitchy micro electronic sounds.

Noto and Sakamoto have worked together since 2002, releasing six albums in total. In 2017, Ryuichi Sakamoto released his first new album in eight years, the excellent async. Last month, it was revealed that a 15-year-old live recording of a performance by Alva Noto with Mika Vainio and Ryoji Ikeda is set to be released in January. This a very good release, I need a copy on 12".

There may be two versions of this. My copy is a full picture sleeve - not diecut. It appears there might be diecut/promo-like versions and full sleeve versions of this.

Much like "Vrioon" my copy isn't super crystal clear; however, I play my copy at a lower volume and it definitely hits the mark. It's a beautiful record ideal for the quiet moments.

Lovely to be able to play on record. I agree with your comments, my copy has barely been played yet has a fair amount of surface noise but that has been present since I bought it new , same feedback for Vrioon LP too.

Up-to-now the most awesome piece of music i've heard this year. the way the unique styles of those two artists correspond takes my breath away: glitch/click, yet subtle sound of mr Nikolai joined with harmonic, beautiful piano lines soundstrack genius mr Sakamoto gives brilliant results. Ultimate relief for mind after a tough day of inner-city life. This music has something in common with Murcof's works (soundtrack mood as well as something else which i can't clearly define), but it's beatless and more 'minimal'.
