The Hi-Lo's were a vocal quartet formed in 1953, who achieved their greatest fame in the late 1950s and 1960s. The group's name is a reference to their extreme vocal and physical ranges (Bob Strasen and Bob Morse were tall, Gene Puerling and Clark Burroughs were short)

By late 1954 the Hi-Lo's had left Trend. Four albums resulted, 'Listen to the Hi-Lo's' in 1954, 'The Hi-Lo's, I Presume' in 1954, 'The Hi-Lo's Under Glass' in 1955 and 'The Hi-Lo's On Hand' in 1956. A third album, 'Now Hear This', appeared in 1957. Much in demand by this time, the Hi-Lo's recorded commercial jingles for a range of products including Hertz Rent-A-Car, this last example reappearing in the 1964 Jack Lemon film 'Good Neighbor Sam'. The Hi-Lo's themselves appeared on film in 'Calypso Heat Wave' in 1957 and 'Everything's Ducky' in 1961.

The last solid Hi-Lo's LP before the quartet folded in 1964, This Time It's Love was a ballads-only album, and thus much less snappy and swinging than previous records like the Marty Paich extravaganza And All That Jazz or the Rosemary Clooney collaboration Ring Around Rosie.
