Moment of Truth" begins as a wistful pop tune before sweeping strings give it an epic stroke. Bluesbreaker", the first of the album's three vocal tracks (which incidentally has nothing to do with John Mayall) shuffles along like Beck putting together the best car crash song since "Warm Leatherette". Somewhere between Air's suave and Beck's spaz, Trabant have carved out a comfortable niche for their own brand of quirky electronica. Oh, and if you happen to see their alter egos, country band the Funerals, holed up in a room full of guitars somewhere let me know if my theory holds up. trabant moment of truth.

Produced by Guru & DJ Premier. Album Moment of Truth. Moment of Truth Lyrics. No matter what we face We must face the moment of truth, baby. They say it's lonely at the top in whatever you do You always gotta watch motherfuckers around you Nobody's invincible, no plan is foolproof We all must meet our moment of truth. That’s why the second verse was about his fear of going to prison for five years. And that’s why he told me to name the album Moment of Truth, because our attorney told us that if he did go to jail, it would be right when the album drops, and he wouldn’t be ’round to do any of the promo. This entire track is real personal but also has a very universal appeal to it. Everything that Guru wrote about, all the fear and anxiety, all of it, he was really feeling inside. This song was featured in Dave Mirra’s: Freestyle BMX 2, released in 2001.
By the release of Moment of Truth in the spring of 1998, Gang Starr were rap veterans, having spent nearly ten years as professionals. That elapsed time meant that the album was positioned as something of a comeback, since the duo had been inactive for four years, and it had been even longer since they had a hit. They knew they had to come back hard, and Moment of Truth almost accomplishes their goals

DJ Premier on Gang Starr's 'Moment of Truth' Album Turning 20, Guru's Courtroom Battles & Their First Gold Plaque. 3/30/2018 by Andreas Hale. Maybe halfway through the album we were going through issues because of his drinking. He’s been drinking since the day I met him but this was different. We started this album and were really excited. We had already started to format the album because Guru always gives me the titles way in advance and I just make the titles match the music. I was with a girlfriend that I was dating at the time who knew his behavior when he drank. We were coming back from a late night out and I checked my answering machine.
