Here I Am is the third studio album by American recording artist Kelly Rowland, released through Universal Motown and Universal Music Group on July 22, 2011. The album is Rowland's first release since parting ways with her manager Mathew Knowles and longtime Sony Music record label Columbia Records (through Knowles' Music World Entertainment). Here I Am is predominately a pop, R&B and dance album.

Kelly Rowland's second solo album was, at one point, due to be released in 2006, titled My Story. Kelly Rowland was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and began singing as soon as she heard Whitney Houston. She was only four at the time, but Houston's 1985 self-titled debut was enough to motivate the little girl. Performances with the church choir followed, but Rowland's developing interest in music blossomed when she and her family moved to Houston, Texas. In addition to a vocal feature on a Busta Rhymes track, the trap-inflected single "Kelly" was released in late 2018, the first offering from her fifth album. the following year Rowland played the "Empress of Soul," singer Gladys Knight in the BET television series American Soul.
