Arena is the sixth studio album by British rock band Asia, released in February 1996 by Bullet Proof Records. Recorded at Electric Palace Studios in London during 1995, it was produced by vocalist John Payne and keyboard player Geoff Downes. All tracks written by John Payne and Geoff Downes, except where noted. Geoff Downes – keyboards; producer. John Payne – vocals (tracks 2-11), solo guitar (tracks 3, 8, 10), acoustic guitar (track 5), bass (tracks 2-8, 10-11); producer, engineer.

Aria is the fifth studio album by British rock band Asia, released in April 1994 in the United Kingdom by Bullet Proof Records and in 1995 in the United States by Mayhem Recordings. Unlike its predecessor, which was recorded with the help of several guest musicians, Aria features a stable line-up consisting of vocalist and bassist John Payne, keyboard player Geoff Downes, guitarist Al Pitrelli and drummer Michael Sturgis.

The Asia of old actually had an arena rock sort of sound that, while espousing prog elements and textures, was pretty much straightforward rock. At times the band was definitely a bit formulaic.
