Journey to Freedom is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Michelle Williams, released on September 9, 2014 by E1 Music and Light Records. It marked her first release under the label after severing professional ties with longtime record company Columbia Records and manager Mathew Knowles in 2009. Following a hiatus from her recording career, Williams' album, a collaboration with main producer Harmony Samuels, was a fusion of both urban contemporary gospel and R&B sounds.

The first album from Michelle Williams since her split from Columbia, Journey to Freedom marks the singer's return to contemporary gospel. Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland join in on the Igbo-tinged "Say Yes," a celebratory finale.

While Williams was still with Destiny's Child, she intensified work on her debut solo album Heart to Yours. The album material included collaborations with singers Carl Thomas, Shirley Caesar and the Mary Mary duo, taking the singer's work further into urban contemporary gospel and Christian music. Some people will do gospel when their career fails, but I chose to do it at the height of the popularity of Destiny's Child," Williams explained during the album's release.

Michelle’s new album, Journey to Freedom is co-produced by longtime friend Harmony Samuels. Atlanta’s, Praise 10. /102. 9 conducted a special meet and greet with fans.
