Pendragon (12) ‎– Mary Skeffington. A1. Mary Skeffington.

Johanna Mary "Hanna" Sheehy Skeffington (née Johanna Mary Sheehy) (24 May 1877 – 20 April 1946) was a suffragette and Irish nationalist. Along with her husband Francis Sheehy-Skeffington, Margaret Cousins and James Cousins, she founded the Irish Women's Franchise League in 1908 with the aim of obtaining women's voting rights. She was later a founding member of the Irish Women Workers' Union. Her son, Owen Sheehy-Skeffington became a politician and Irish Senator.

Pendragon are an English neo-progressive rock band established in 1978 in Stroud, Gloucestershire as Zeus Pendragon by guitarist and vocalist Nick Barrett. The word Zeus was dropped before the band started recording, as the members decided it was too long to look good on a T-shirt. There were a few personnel changes in the early days, but since 1986 the lineup has remained relatively stable (with only the drummer changing twice since then) and the band were still active as of 2018.

Can I Have My Money Back?

Allan Clarke does a nice, sort of Hollies ballad-styled version, taken from his first solo album made a year or so after Rafferty released the original. Thanks so much for posting this. It's always aggravated me that they put the wrong mix on the CD release. This is the way it should be. Such a nice guitar intro.

Mary Skeffington, when you wake You mustn't be afraid to face another day Think of what you had, you'll get by You've always been a lady, hold your head up high. Look back on your home where you spent the best years of your life Remember the man who asked you if you would be his wife. Mary Skeffington, close your eyes And make believe that you are just a girl again Go to sleep tonight, dream of days When you had something there to light the way. Album
