Sally Patricia Oldfield (born 3 August 1947) is a singer-songwriter, sister of composers Mike and Terry Oldfield. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Oldfield was raised in the Roman Catholic faith of her mother, Maureen. Spending her childhood in Reading, Berkshire, Oldfield studied ballet from the age of four and won numerous competitions in all styles of dance, including ballet, tap and modern.

Sally Oldfield's musical career started in early 1968, when she formed the folk duo The Sallyangie with her brother Mike Oldfield. An album, Children of the Sun, was issued in 1968 but soon afterwards, The Sallyangie disbanded. Five years later Sally Oldfield appeared on her sibling's breakthrough album, Tubular Girls, as part of the 'girlie chorus'. This song released from her Water Bearer album is her only hit single.
