The Bryan Ferry Orchestra is a retro-jazz ensemble founded and led by Bryan Ferry. They exclusively play his work in a 1920s jazz style. Ferry formed the orchestra out of a desire to focus on the melodies of his songs, and "see how they would stand up without singing".

Rhythm of the Rain is one of the all-time great pop songs, instantly recognizable, and loved by everyone. Nothing else on the album equals Rhythm of the Rain, but very few songs do. All of the songs are enjoyable (which I can't say about most albums, in any genre), and some are just a notch below greatness. Although the Cascades really only had one big hit with "Rhythm of the Rain", this entire album is great. Their vocal harmony is fantastic and the songs are just really nice. I've enjoyed this album for years and have just replaced it with a CD.

This is an enjoyable sampler highlighting the Cascades' vocal hits from the early '60s for the Valiant label. This short collection provides a decent introduction to the group's best material, including the original versions of "Shy Girl," "The Last Leaf," and their only Top Ten hit from 1963, "Rhythm of the Rain. This budget-priced compilation will please both the fan and novice.
