No One is the only studio album by Chicago nu metal band of the same name. It was released on August 14, 2001 via Immortal Records and produced by Johnny K who also worked with Chicago natives Disturbed and SOiL. Neither the band nor their debut release gained any widespread commercial attention, despite the album being classified under the once-popular nu and alternative metal genre. Two singles from No One were released in "Chemical" and "Down on Me" and received moderate radio play for a short time.
He was welcomed with open arms and was an integral member of the band in no time. His warmth and charm was quick to infect so many people. As a songwriter in The Ocean Party, aswell as Ciggie Witch, Pregnancy and Hobby Farm, Zac's direct and honest lyricism affected those who could relate to his struggles with day to day life. The latest Ocean Party album 'The Oddfellows' Hall' features two of Zacs most beautiful songs to date in 'Home' and 'Rain On Tin'. They reflect on his love for his family and his home town and a desire to let them know the love felt towards them. In honour of his passing we have decide to release 'The Oddfellows' Hall' early and make it free to download for anyone who would like to hear it. We love you Zac and you will forever be with us!
The Cannanes released their second album, A Love Affair With Nature in 1989, on their own label (or rather on no label at all), with O'Neil and Gibson now sharing vocal duties. They toured the United States for the first time in 1991, recording the Caveat Emptor album to coincide with it, although it was not released until 1993. other releases followed. Core additional members in the early 1990s included bassist/vocalists Gavin Butler (on the albums Arty Barbecue and Short Poppy Syndrome) and Francesca Bussey (on a self-titled album and a long EP, Tiny Frown).
For their self-titled release, the Cannanes expanded to a five-piece, with Ivor Moulds contributing drums on a number of tracks while Francesca Bussey added bass and vocals. Rotating around with the regulars on those instruments must have been interesting, but the end result is another fine Cannanes album, gentle underground rock/pop jangle for those unafraid of such things. Things are a touch more crisp on this album than on others, but only just - the soft focus fuzz and hum that is as much an element of the Cannanes as anything else still coats everything in a fine warm glow.
