From Denver, Colorado comes Death Metal band Of Feather and Bone, thrashing into 2018 with their second full length album Bestial Hymns of Perversion. Members Dave (Guitar), Alvino (Bass/Vocals) and Preston (Drums) hopes to usher in mankind’s fall as their seven-track album portends to the destruction of the modern age. The music has been described as a guttural onslaught of grime-caked riffs, as well as invoking claustrophobia and visceral disgust and I can assure you that these descriptions fit the music as it does invoke in me, a sense of some intensely graphic imagery.

Bestial Hymns of Perversion is Definitely a technically astute record. Of Feather and Bone craft an admirably well arranged crooked and muddy sound. It just feels like the content on this record inherits its personality from better works rather than building one of its own. There's a lack of ascension and diversity in the soundscape on the record too. If anything though the record is at least a showcase of Of Feather and Bone's commendable technical capabilities.

The band’s newest album, Bestial Hymns of Perversion, is out March 23 via Profound Lore, and marks a departure from the caustic grind that characterized their previous releases, particularly their 2015 album Embrace the Wretched Flesh. The band stripped away its frantic, d-beat-driven bursts of aggression in favor of a cavernous death assault that harkens back to Incantation, Autopsy, and early Cannibal Corpse. Rife with chainsaw riffs, guttural invocations, and inexhaustible streams of blastbeats, the tracks marked the arrival of the newly revitalized Of Feather and Bone.
