Complete your ELpH vs Coil collection. Quite simply put, "Worship The Glitch" found Coil exploring errors in their computer system with the unconscious plan to incorporate these deviations into an album. That really is all it was, there was no grand plot to pioneer a new genre or gain attention through some kind of technical prowess. Balance and Christopherson only wanted to give the creatures in the electronic realm who were perceived as mistakes a stage of their own to shine on. People for as long as this album has been out (20 years coming up) have had their issues with ELpH

Dais Records is proud to announce the official reissue of "ELpH vs Coil - Worship the Glitch" on digital, double LP (double 12" for the first time ever), and C. Originally released in 1995 on Coil’s in-house imprint Eskaton, Worship the Glitch was Coil’s first proper album-length attempt at conceptual ambient composition, with a radical focus on chance. Seamless vignettes of shattered electronics, though ebbing softly and in delicate balance with each other, provide an underlying uncertainty and discomfort to the listener. Remastered by engineer Josh Bonati and supervised by Coil's Drew McDowall, Worship The Glitch is expanded onto double vinyl LP and packaged within a matte gatefold jacket with a replica vellum track listing insert and sticker.

The Elph vs Coil "Worship the Glitch" album was actually a collection of sound design sessions between Peter Christopherson and Jhon Balance. Elph is not a real group, but rather the name Coil gave themselves for the project. The tracks are atmospheric sound "auditions," rather than actual songs. For me personally, Worship the Glitch holds an additional nostalgic relevance, but I can be certain that if I were introduced to it today it would still be equally revelatory. There's a real and authentic mystery to Coil's music, and Worship the Glitch captures it in what in what could perhaps be considered its raw state. For fans, it's absolutely required. For electronic musicians it should be considered required listening.

ELpH vs Coil : Worship The Glitch. Other albums by Coil.

ELpH is the name that Coil used to describe the random musical compositions that were generated from their own equipment, either by itself or as an unintended yet pleasant byproduct of their own work; as a result, this album can essentially count as a Coil album.

According to Coil, ELpH was "the entity Coil use to describe what musical compositions come out of the equipment that are sometimes unrehearsed or consciously thought o. So Worship the Glitch is, essentially, a Coil album. More on the experimental, less 'musical' end of their output
