If There's Nothing Left To Be Said Tracks 1, 2, 3, and 5 are multi-tracked guitar pieces using a mechanical sustaining device that can infinitely hold out any notes on the guitar, even more than one at a time (unlike an eBow). It works by exciting the strings of the guitar using a motor to control six wheels, which are controlled by levers on the bridge. These tracks were composed in 2016. Got it. + add. album.

STEVE FLATO - SUSTAIN (self-released digital). Solo microtonal guitar pieces that use the mechanical device known as the Gizmotron LLC. The Gizmo uses wheels, levers, and motors to excite the strings of an electric guitar. Unlike the eBow, it is completely mechanical, and multiple strings can be played at once to construct chords. Steve Flato 13 Questions Steve Flato is a San Diego-based musician working primarily in and exploring areas between composition and improvisation. Flato is concerned with process and chance, and the line between synthetic and natural sounds. He is particularly interested in impurity - taking processes and concepts and freely interchanging them without the process necessarily dictating form. His label, Abrash, is named after the impurities found in the accidental color bleeding that occurs in the process of creating rugs, noted by Morton Feldman.
