Best of Bee Gees Volume 2 is a compilation album of hits by the Bee Gees released in 1973. The album, briefly revived on CD in the late 1980s, went out of print, but was reissued by Rhino in November 2008

Gees, Vol. 2 was a necessity. And, in a way, the timing was fortuitous in that there weren't nearly enough post-1969 hits to fill up the album. Thus, in addition to the obvious international chart hits "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," "Lonely Days," "Run to Me," and "My World," the producers had to reach out to lesser-charting songs. Even amid those hits, the best song on this album, and the one that Bee Gees fans were least likely to own already, is easily "Morning of My Life," one of the first records that the group recorded after getting back together in 1971, from the Melody soundtrack album. The resulting collection is, in many ways, as charming and quirky, if not quite as imposing a body of music, as its predecessor.

Of the 2 best-of discs covering the Bee Gees' pre-disco pop hits, it's the first volume that's the definitive collection. But, this 14-song follow-up is a nice companion piece, boasting several prime examples of the Gibb Brothers' emotion-drenched, vintage songcraft. So this album may be seen by some as the best of a bad period in the careers of the Bee Gees. In fact, there are many good songs in this collection. I particularly like Melody fair and Morning of my life.
