Frank Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention is a 1985 album by Frank Zappa. The album was originally released in two slightly different versions in the US and Europe. The album's title is a reference to the lobby group, the PMRC, who were campaigning to require record companies to put warning stickers on albums they considered offensive, and to Zappa's former band, the Mothers of Invention.

As with the tape version, Canada got the Euro version rather than the US release (strange considering our proximity both geographically and culturally). The cover is white on black with the yellow "European Version" callout box. My copy didn't come with liner notes, just the plastic sleeve.

The album title and the track "Porn Wars" both reference the Parents Musi. Because Zappa felt that the songs which referenced the PMRC hearings wouldn't make sense to an European audience note despite the fact that they were reported by international media at the time he released a different version of the album, with a slightly different cover (white letters on a black background) and a different tracklist for the European market. Porn Wars" was kept off the album and replaced by three tracks not present on the American version: "I Don't Even Care", "One Man - One Vote" and ". Like a lot of Zappa's albums from The '80s, Frank Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention is not held in high regard among fans. The lyrics reference both the PMRC debates as well as the romanticization of The '60s in The '80s and are therefore definitely a very dated Unintentional Period Piece.
