The first release from the new cae-sur-a label is a layered and nuanced drone cassette performed by Daniel Voigt.Seemingly branched from the Emeralds tree of pretty, analog heavy drone, Voigt does not hesitate to get tones and phrases moving and piling on top of one another. Even the shift from the uptempo opener to the Side A closer “strudelwurm mit rennstreifen” sounds still feels full in a way that makes drone interesting and fun.Maybe categorizing this as drone is the wrong step, as the amount of room and space this takes up signals more of a nod to ambient Krautrock stuff. Voigt builds and crumbles, inserts and diminishes little pecks of sound in this way that isn’t cinematic really, but sets an atmosphere of some heady details. - Andrew Murdock Livingston, Foxy Digitalis, 4/22/11

Hep. - Byron Coley, Size Matters, The Wire 326Hering und seine sieben Sachen, a solo project of Daniel Voigt (also of Autistic Argonauts, Pawned Pajamas, Horzes, and Phantom Limbo), brings a muted, sentimental-futuristic touch to kosmiche, drone and New Age traditions. Nautical Twilight prods sputtering, scrambled electronics and flickering drones into something measured and serene. "Strudelwurm Mit Rennstreifen" is a zero-gravity swirl of Kate Bush's "Nightscented Stock" and Edgar Froese's synthetic galaxies, and the smeared melodies of opener "Affenhaar" are engrossing, but it's the woozy, slightly unsteady New Age drones on side two that are really great. - Natasha Pickowicz, Paris Transatlantic, Spring 2011
