Cream were a 1960s British rock power trio consisting of drummer Ginger Baker, guitarist/singer Eric Clapton and bassist/singer Jack Bruce. While together they released four albums, the last two being partly recorded live in concert, and ten singles. Since breaking up there have been four albums of music recorded live in concert (including of their brief reunion at the Royal Albert Hall in 2005), and 11 compilation albums. Almost a year later, Cream released their second album, expanding their musical palette but retaining the heavy sound they achieved with Fresh Cream. Over the next few years, as the decade ran down and trickled into a new one, the blues shifted into more volume-defined territories. Ice Cream Cake was released on March 17th, 2015. The extended play was released with six tracks while spawning two singles, Automatic and Ice Cream Cake, with the latter becoming the group’s breakthrough success. Red Velvet showcased their dual concept in one album for the first time with Ice Cream Cake and the song was promoted as the Red single opposite Automatic, which was promoted as its Velvet single.
