Archons - Lords of Light and Thunder flac album

Listening to Archons newest offering, Lords of Light and Thunder, reinforced just exactly where that line resides. While some tracks are a bit over the top for my liking, a majority of this record lands firmly in the HELL YES category, and I found myself bouncing along a lot more frequently than I thought I would upon first listen. Mysterians is as close to a ballad as Archons comes on this album, with an awesomely heavy but still somehow melodic slant – guitarist Jeff Haynes really shines on this track, blending crunchy chords with intricate riffs in a way that’s new and exciting while still evoking that good old heavy metal nostalgia.

Lords of Thunder, known as Winds of Thunder (ウィンズ オブ サンダー) in Japan, is a shoot 'em up by Hudson Soft and Red Company for the Turbo CD which was released in 1993. It was ported to the Sega CD in 1995. It is the unofficial follow-up to Gate of Thunder. The game features a heavy metal soundtrack. The game is centered around the world Mistral's confrontation with the re-awakened evil god Deoric and his dark generals who have torn the world asunder.

An Archon is the leader of a Dark Eldar Kabal, the organisation that serves as the heart of the standard Drukhari raiding force as well as the primary political unit within the Dark City. The Archons of the Drukhari Kabals are the true lords of Commorragh. Archons are high priests of the Fallen, who act as the intermediary between the Kell and the Prime Servitor of each House. Archons also act as mechanics for their Primes, and take part in some sort of unclear symbiosis, but are still clearly defined as a servant to their Prime. If an Archon were to fall, that House's Prime Servitor becomes vulnerable to attack. They are also responsible for overseeing a Fallen ritual know as the Archon's Forge

Lords of Thunder (called Winds of Thunder in Japan) was published by Hudson in 1993 for the PC Engine/TurboDuo, in joint production with Red Corporation. It was actually developed by CAProduction Co Lt. who outside of 16-bit shooters, later went to work on the Mario Party series. Although its name bears a resemblance to Gate of Thunder, another shooter made by CAProduction for the PC Engine, the gameplay is entirely different. TurboGrafx-16 CD. Lords of Thunder transcends the shooter stereotype, eschewing the usual space ships and sci-fi environments for a heavy metal fantasy-style setting.
