It was released on July 30, 2002 via Warner Bros. The record consists mainly of remixed versions of songs found on the band's debut album Hybrid Theory. The album generated two promotional singles: "Pts. Athrty" and "H! Vltg3". The record features several guests, as well as new parts to songs and a further emphasis on the electronic side of the band.

That means the group has left the hamfisted alt-metal of their debut behind, turning this record over to rappers, remixers, DJs, and assorted producers to give it a darkly hip, electronic edge.
