The Orchestra often partners with Danish television to present three night themes such as The Dual – Morricone draws first , which included songs from westerns and gangster movies such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, The Godfather and Galaxymphony , which included soundtracks from various space and sci-fi movies such as Blade Runner, Interstellar and for good measure, the entire Star Wars. These print ads for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra's concert series Space Classics rather brilliantly reference Star Wars, Star Trek, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Musicians of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra and guest conductor and chili pepper enthusiast Claus "Chili Klaus" Pilgaard recently performed a rousing rendition of "Jalousie 'Tango Tzigane'" by Jacob Gade after the entire ensemble and the conductor ate some of the world's hottest chili peppers.

The London Symphony Orchestra was organized as a self-governing corporation administered by a board selected by the players. They arranged for the great Hans Richter to conduct the inaugural concert, and continued to engage a variety of conductors, practically introducing the concept of the guest conductor to the London musical scene. Soon, though, the title and post of principal conductor was established for Richter. The LSO's connection with the BBC goes back to 1924 when Ralph Vaughan Williams conducted the orchestra in the premiere broadcast performance of his Pastoral Symphony
