Yes, if you're an Alice Cooper collector, or you've always wanted a vinyl version of this album without paying the ridiculous prices the original commands. But if sound quality matters, or you're just getting into Alice's later work, then skip this and get the original US CD. Friday Music seems to be better now than when they first started coming out with vinyl, but they still have a lot of work to do.

The Last Temptation is the 20th studio album by rock singer, Alice Cooper, released in July 1994 via Epic Records. It centers on a boy named Steven (also the name of the protagonist in Cooper's earlier work, Welcome to My Nightmare), and a mysterious showman. The showman, with apparent supernatural abilities, attempted with the use of twisted versions of morality plays to persuade Steven to join his traveling show, "The Theater of the Real - The Grand-est Guignol!", where he would "never grow up".

By the time The Last Temptation was released in 1994, the hair band fad that had fueled Cooper's return was dead, and Cooper was obviously aware of its downfall - the album sounds almost nothing like its two predecessors. Instead of relating to such albums as Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood, Last Temptation seems more similar to Ozzy Osbourne's No More Tears. Thematically, the record returns to mostly conceptual songs, such as "Nothing's Free," "You're My Temptation," and "Cleansed by Fire.

The Last Temptation marked another resurgence for Alice and this time he came back with a force. Alice returned to form in his lyrics. He's back to great storytelling, sarcasm and wit. Alice also aligned with stronger musicians like Chris Cornell to bring some grit and heaviness to the album. This is a must own for any Alice Cooper fan. I really recommend this yellow vinyl release for the quality of the recording as well as the packaging. He briefly reappeared on Hey Stoopid which preseeded The Last Temptation. Cornell collaborates on two ballads on Alice’s new Last Temptation, one eerily reminiscent of Alice’s late ’70s I Never Cry /Hollywood Squares period ( Stolen Prayer ), one merely messy ( Unholy War ). Temptation is supposed to be a morality play about a bored hick-town teen being lured toward sex and drugs by an evil stranger; the Cornell songs come when the kid starts tangling with his conscience. Lullaby, the inevitable Welcome to My Nightmare (via Metallica’s Enter Sandman ) rewrite, comes next, then our side wins. The album’s junkiest riffs and funniest jokes come early: Sideshow is the kind of song Urge Overkill would overkill for; Lost in America is a Fight for Your Right (to Party) sound-alike about a latchkey Beavis who wants a dad and a girlfriend with a gun.
