Neverland (The Mission album). The album was recorded and produced by Hussey and the band over a three-year period. The first tracks were produced in 1992 on the back of the Masque sessions. After the departure of Craig Adams the Mission has been reduced to a duo and active recruitment of new members took place over the last three months of 1992. Thwaite and Carter joined together with Matthew Parkin on bass. The latter left at the start of 1993 to be replaced by the former The Pretenders bassist Andy Hobson

After attempting to update the band's sound with 1991's Masque, the Mission abandoned some of the technological influences of that album and concentrated on a more guitar-based sound. However, the same shortcomings continued to appear. In the mid-'80s Hussey and his crew were accused of copying Led Zeppelin, and Neverland provides more ammunition for the band's critics.

In fact this album marks the point where the Mission became difficult to take seriously as a band because of their plagiarism habit (anticipating Oasis in that regard). Cry Like A Baby' is indebted to Bowie's & Actor'. Swoon' alludes to Bowie and the Cure whilst continuing Hussey's series of similar-sounding "sex songs".
