Cinder is the seventh major album by Australian trio, Dirty Three. Conceived in the summer of 2005 on Phillip Island, in South Eastern Australia, the songs are shorter, more trimmed down and classic in composition than usual Dirty Three output. Recorded in just 10 days, Cinder's 19 tracks includes violin, drums, mandolin, bouzouki, organ, piano, acoustic guitar, bagpipes, and, rarely for a Dirty Three album, vocals.

Cinder Fall is one of the main antagonists of RWBY and the primary antagonist of the Beacon Arc. She is a member of Salem's Faction as well as the leader of her own. She is also the current host of the Fall Maiden's powers. Her machinations are the driving force behind the events of the first three volumes of RWBY. Cinder used a special Grimm glove to steal half of the Fall maiden powers from Amber. During the Fall of Beacon, she gained the other half and killed Ozpin in battle.

Cinder ships with several built-in CinderBlocks such as QuickTime and the LocationManager.

I liked the fact we had a diverse character, who was prickly, and who wasn’t stereotypically pretty. But everything sort of fell apart that aside. I think by doing this I can sort of sort out my feelings without having my head explode and make sense of what’s going to be some rather rambily rants. Because guys, this book kept me up all last night because I was raging.

This first book of four, "Cinder" follows the adventures of a cyborg/mechanic who is treated as a less than human thing, owned by her step-mother, reviled by the step-mother and one daughter, while caring deeply for the other, Peony and her great friend, an android named Iko. There are wonderfully inventive elements from the original tale, and the book ends on a cliffhanger.
