Monica Beverly Hillz (born January 31, 1985) is an American drag queen, reality television personality, and trans activist, originally known for appearing on season 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was the third ever contestant to come out as transgender on the show, after Sonique in season 2 and Carmen Carrera in season 3, which was also historic in that that was a first for network television as well.

A variant of this text appeared earlier in a villanella by Antonio Scandello (Il secondo libro dele canzone napolitane, 1577), but the music is unrelated to the monica tune. The origin of the tune is unknown.

In music, a villanella (Italian pronunciation: ; plural villanelle - not to be confused with the French poetic form villanelle) is a form of light Italian secular vocal music which originated in Italy just before the middle of the 16th century. It first appeared in Naples, and influenced the later canzonetta, and from there also influenced the madrigal. The music of the early villanella (known as the canzone villanesca) is invariably for three unaccompanied voices. The first composers of villanellas were the Neapolitans Giovanni Domenico da Nola and Giovan Tomaso di Maio; later composers of villanellas, no longer from Naples, included Adrian Willaert, Luca Marenzio, Adriano Banchieri, Orlande de Lassus, Eva Dell'Acqua and others.
