On July 12, The Vines released their fourth album 'Melodia' on their new label Ivy League Records. The album features fourteen new songs, including new single 'He's A Rocker' which was instantly added to high rotation on Triple J and Nova. The next stage of The Vines career begins here and it's a safe bet to say that anything goes.

The song is one of their best known, notable for using the word "fuck" 105 times, 93 times by Violent J, 10 times by Shaggy 2 Dope, and twice by Jumpsteady.

Album Day of the Dead. Fuck the World Lyrics. I wanna fuck the world I'm gonna make it hurt I'll stand here all alone I'm gonna watch it burn I wanna fuck the world I'm gonna make it hurt I'll stand here all alone I'm gonna watch it burn. Look at what you made, an ugly world, a pretty grave And you're praying now, baby, but you prayed a little late I was born to burn it down, not for heaven, heaven's fake I was born to burn it down, so I can make you feel the same Yeah, you better write those letters that. you're never gonna send I can see through the tears but all I see is red I see all the pain and you say, "What's the problem? What happened to these kids? When was it that we lost 'em?"

The album ends with homage to the closing track ". W" (Fuck the World) off the Vines' sophomore album, 2004's Winnning Days. You see, Nichols and co. has significantly matured since then, so instead of fucking the world, they merely want to screw it on ". W", a mediocre mix of alt-rock and electronics. Perhaps in another seven years the Aussies will have a sunnier disposition and actually . W, or maybe by that point they will do us all a favor and stop putting out music.

The Vines' third album, Vision Valley, appeared in 2006, featuring a back-to-basics combination of grunge anthems and tight, focused garage punk. Several tours were planned in advance of its 2009 release, but Nicholls' condition once again forced the Vines to take a break, resulting in the cancellation of their Japanese tour as well as a scheduled appearance at Homebake 2008. Now label-less, the band finally released its next album, Future Primitive, in 2011 as a free covermount CD with British broadsheet The Daily Telegraph. It was later given a proper release by Sony. Later that year, Rosser and Griffiths left the band, in murky and allegedly acrimonious circumstances.
