The Country of the Blind" is a short story written by H. G. Wells. It was first published in the April 1904 issue of The Strand Magazine and included in a 1911 collection of Wells's short stories, The Country of the Blind and Other Stories. It is one of Wells's best known short stories, and features prominently in literature dealing with blindness. Wells later revised the story, with the expanded version first published by an English private printer, Golden Cockerel Press, in 1939.

Full album title: Holy Wood In the Shadow of the Valley of Death. This album was Manson’s first release following the April 1999 Columbine High School massacre, for which he had been unfairly crucified in the press as being an inspiration to the killers (this was later determined to be totally unsubstantiated). Consequently, this album explores such themes as parental roles and America’s hypocrisy of conservative values and culture juxtaposed with its mainstream acceptance of violence and the fame attained by people whose publicly displayed deaths have been romanticized and martyred. This is listed as a bonus entry because, quite frankly, I wanted it on the list but didn‘t want to take any of the others off.

Blind Faith, ‘Blind Faith’ (1969). The Eric Clapton-Steve Winwood supergroup had no name until they saw the cover art for their album, which photographer Bob Seidemann called "Blind Faith": an 11-year-old girl with her shirt off, her innocence in counterpoint to the technological toy in her hands. Model Mariora Goschen says that she was promised a horse for posing for the cover, and had to settle for 40 pounds sterling. It was quickly replaced with a drill boring into a person's forehead - savory only in comparison.

The Super-Group Blind Faith released their one and only self-titled debut album in August of 1969. The short lived band featuring Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ric Grech and Ginger Baker caused a huge controversy because the cover of the album featured a topless young girl holding a plane. Here’s what the photographer Bob Seidemann said about his vision for the album cover and the reason behind using such a young girl. I could not get my hands on the image until out of the mist a concept began to emerge

Blind Faith's first and last album, more than 30 years old and counting, remains one of the jewels of the Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Ginger Baker catalogs, despite the crash-and-burn history of the band itself, which scarcely lasted six months.
