South London producer Deft release a new EP on regular outpost WotNot. The Always Greener EP is arguably one of his most accomplished to date, a detailed effort of intricately woven percussion and breezy digital texturing. Opening track 'Emeralds' is a space-age take on footwork and jungle tropes, while 'Octavia' works a crisp house beat. A Little Kiss' bumps with a slick bassline while 'Perky' drives harder and faster. A varied release that proves Deft to be a producer with range.

Deft - Always Greener EP Velvety deep house motifs, stuttering footwork flourishes and gripping bass collide in Deft's music. Opening with a crackly sample from '60s pop standard "Love Is Blue," it segues into a brief, off-kilter bit of hip-hop.
