Graham Parker (born 18 November 1950, Hackney, East London) is an English singer-songwriter, who is best known as the lead singer of the British band Graham Parker & the Rumour. Parker was born in Hackney, East London in 1950. He was a pupil at Chobham Secondary Modern School in Surrey. After the arrival of the Beatles, Parker and some other 12/13 year olds formed the Deepcut Three, soon renamed the Black Rockers.

As with the excellent "Three Chords Good" album which was released in 2012, The Rumour are back again on the new album, and they provide subtle yet perfect support, on a qualitative level that probably only The Band could have surpassed, and only a few other backing bands could match. 0 of 0 users found this helpful.

Graham Parker and The Rumour, one of the UK’s pioneering pre-punk bands return with a new album, Mystery Glue through Chess’ cutting-edge imprint Cadet Concept. Written in Graham’s second home of New York and recorded in just 6 days in the legendary RAK studios in London, Mystery Glue is an album of conscious rock that harks back to Graham Parker & the Rumour’s genre-defining music of the 70s whilst paying homage to Dylan, reggae, soul and rock ‘n’ roll. After a long gap of over 30 years, Graham Parker and the Rumour are back together and this is their 2nd recent album in relatively quick succession. Graham is in good voice, obviously not the angry young man of the late 1970's, but he still has plenty of relevant things to say for himself. The original Rumour band are back together, and provide accomplished support, sometimes veering towards a country style.

Graham Parker and the Rumour, Lindsey Buckingham Perform at 'This is 40' Soundtrack Party. Three Chords Good was very good, but it was a bit of practice," the British singer-songwriter tells Billboard. We weren't quite sure. Parker says that save for the track "Pub Crawl," which he wrote even before Three Chords Good was recorded, most of the 12 songs on Mystery Glue were written especially for the new album and were inspired by the energy of the tour. A lot of the songs are playful," Parker notes. That was there in the beginning (of the band) but I obfuscated it by being intense, yelling and screaming and all of that. Swing State" certainly fits in that mold, he adds

Talk about Graham Parker And The Rumour - Mystery Glue

Andromakus
The British singer-songwriter Graham Parker and The Rumour pubrockband the British knew both their most successful years as Graham Parker & The Rumour. Albums like Squeezing Out Sparks (1979) and The Up Escalator (1980) were successful on both sides of the Atlantic by their caustic Pub rock with the spiked energy of (post) punk and influences from soul. Parker then emigrated to America where he developed his solo career. In 2012 he called his former escorts, and Three Chords together again Good, their first studio album since 1980. After their collaboration with the feature film This Is 40 and the resulting live dvd This Is Live, seem to have found each other again singer and band at all. At the same time, the songs become more personal and belegener, soulfulle Parker's squatters of yesteryear as I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down and Don't Ask Me Questions are not found on Mystery Glue. Hecht and they sound inspired still.
