Quantum Fantay's 2015 album was interesting in quite a few respects. Firstly, they had a new guitarist in Tom Tas, and secondly, they had used more guest musicians than previously, one of whom was Ed Wynne! Given that these guys have been more than a little influenced by the mighty Ozrics that is a huge compliment to what they are doing. QUANTUM FANTAY are dancing in limbo right here while playing with track names respectively times en passant. Well, this smells like a concept. Concerning the line-up there's a minor change to state on guitar, yet Tom Tas is aboard, substituting Dario Frodo, who at least guests on one track though.

Talk about Quantum Fantay - Dancing In Limbo

Ionzar
Since Quantum Fantay has always been considered the Ozric Tentacles of Belgium, it was only a matter of time before none other than Ed Wynne made an appearance on one of their releases, and this is it! He recorded his guitar tracks in his home studio in Colorado, and the rest was recorded at Pete Mush's Mushroomland Studio in Lokeren, Belgium. I have to say while the Ozric influence is undeniable, they aren't a copycat, on the other hand this music comes highly recommended if you enjoy such groups like Ozric Tentacles, Hidria Spacefolk, Korai Orom, Mantric Muse, Tidal Flood and the likes. Their regular guitarist Tom Tass is more restrained than Ed, but on the second cut, "Rimboe" the guitar playing is undeniably Ed, since that's the song he appears on. The flute playing from Charles Sla is similar to that of John Egan, plus Pete Mush gives those nice spacy synths that I come to love of this brand of space rock. It's nice to hear Ed Wynne outside Ozric Tentacles, that's for sure, and his presence did help solidify the "Belgian Ozric" reputation these guys have. I find it amusing how these song titles have names like "Rimboe", "Cacimbo" and "Nimbo", and of course "Limbo", and the song titles are 11:11, 11:12, 11:13, and 11:14 minutes. Was that done on purpose? I found that pretty clever, right from the song titles down to the song title lengths. It's pretty obvious who I recommend this, and if you like Ozric Tentacles and the likes, you need this, helps that Ozric's Ed is a guest here.
