James Eddie Lewis (November 19, 1937 – September 11, 2004) was an American soul singer, songwriter, arranger and producer. He was a member of the Drifters in the 1960s, worked as a songwriter and producer with Ray Charles, and wrote songs for Z. Z. Hill among many others. Born in Itta Bena, Mississippi, he moved to Los Angeles, California by the late 1950s

In his youth Lewis travelled extensively, leading to doubts about his place of birth. Itta Bena, Mississippi, seems likely.

Wait Until Tomorrow" is a song by the Jimi Hendrix Experience from their 1967 second album Axis: Bold as Love. Written by Jimi Hendrix, the song details the scenario of a male protagonist addressing his female love with whom he plans to leave home, only to be shot dead by her father. Despite not being released as a single, "Wait Until Tomorrow" has been recognised as one of the strongest songs on the album.

Alex Cameron, Molly Lewis, Jimmy Barnes. Once Janet had her 3rd blockbuster album in a row, Michael probably felt comfortable enough to be like okay, I can check out these producers I’ve admired now since there’s no shadow of me on Janet’s career anymore. The idea for what becomes What Have Done For Me Lately comes out of a conversation that producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have with Janet, during the recording sessions for the album Control. Jam & Lewis come up with the keyboard and bass line parts, while Jackson writes the lyrics. Released as the single from Jackson’s breakthrough album Control in late January of 1986, it immediately takes off on the R&B charts and quickly crossover to pop radio. Lately is the first of five number one R&B singles that are spun off of Control.

I put my life on the line I roll them dice and I'm fine Cause all I ever dreamt about was makin' it They ain't giving it, I'm taking it I’m taking it, taking it, they ain’t giving it I’m taking it, taking it, they ain’t giving it I’m taking it, taking. it, they ain’t giving it I’m taking it, taking it, I need all that shit. We’ve been watching you, so glad you could make it Your music, it's so impressive, and this whole brand you created You're one hell of a band, we here think you're destined for greatness And with that right song we all know that you're next to be famous Now I’m sorry, I’ve.
