The Kurws (nowadays known as Kurws) formed in 2008 in Wrocław, Poland as a spontaneous consequence of a ping-pong session, which descended underground and remains there until today. They drew on influences arising from punk rock as well as rock'n'roll tradition, garage rock, krautrock, rotten funk, no wave or the British post-punk scene. The band is punk, afflicted by the postmodernist curse with all of its benefit of inventory, where things are being born out of fusion and deconstruction.

the) Kurws formed in May 2008 as an unexpected result of a ping pong session. It is a workshop where improvisation penetrates through composed material, a congealed form of the creation process. In 2014 a second album of the Kurws, entitled Wszystko co stałe rozpływa się w powietrzu, All that is solid melts into air, was released on CD by Gusstaff Records (CD) and in Spring 2015 on vinyl (Gaffer Records, Red Wig records & tapes). In the end of 2017 came out their third album Alarm released on CD by Gusstaff, and on vinyl by Red Wig, Et Mon Cul C'est Du Tofu?, Jacob Records. The band has played numerous gigs throughout Europe and are faithful henchmen of DIY/DIT principles.

Kurws are a peculiar entity. Alarm is their most recent release, and is almost embarrassingly good. Nagonka readily baffles you with its odd polyrhythmic bouncing groove accompanied by saxophone and recording artefacts left in. It’s composition aimed at emulating free improvisation, or is it? It doesn’t matter, the result is the same: Alarm is disconcerting and wild! The Polish quartet certainly continues to experiment with music and push themselves on the brink of cohesion  .

Change is the fourth studio album by The Alarm. It was released in September 1989 on IRS Records. The album was released initially on vinyl LP, cassette and CD, reaching No. 13 in the UK charts and No. 75 in the US charts. An extended re-mastered version was released, including extra tracks.
