That latter series is something of a disaster; the playing is labored, with continuous, vertiginous manipulations of tempo sufficient to induce something like aural nausea. Bach's organ works ever. Originally issued on the Philips label in 1977, and reissued twice in the CD era, the set then vanished until this latest digital download crept up in the latter part of 2017. Do not hesitate to acquire this legendary set by the incomparable Wolfgang Rubsam!
