I Can't Stop is the 27th studio album by American soul singer Al Green, released in 2003. It was produced by Willie Mitchell. It was released by Blue Note Records on November 17, 2003, in the United Kingdom and on November 18 in the United States. The album was Green's first since 1995, his first for Blue Note, and his first collaboration with Mitchell since 1985's He Is the Light; it was also Green's first entirely secular recording since the 1970s.

On his 2003 album, I Can't Stop, Al Green attempts to go back home. The album was recorded at the Hi studios with old cohort Willie Mitchell behind the boards and helping write the songs, with members of the Hi session crew providing the music (right down to the same female backup singers). I Can't Stop is certainly no disaster; it is a well-made, funky, fun record that proves two things - the Hi sound lives and Al Green still has it ("it" being all the things that made him so great in the '70s, things like charisma, style, and that amazing voice).

This album is the first Green album that doesn’t feature a cover. This album is all Al, in all his glory. As always, the title track of the album is one of the main features. I Can’t Stop tells us just that. It’s a tongue in cheek reference to the fact that even though he’s taken eight years out of the game, he’s still got it and he just can’t stop. My Problem Is You is a big bluesy number that chugs along magnificently. The song starts slow, but that rolling bass takes us on a hell of a ride.

The closing track on Green’s 1973 album Livin’ for You is disconcerting and unsettling, though it appears mellifluous and warm. If Green’s best songs explore the tug of war between the soul and the flesh, Beware seems to show the consummate lover warning us his motives may not be honourable. The song also works as a stubborn, defiant full-stop at what is, as of this writing, the end of a conflicted and complicated career.
