The duets with Rosemary Clooney (except for "The Night Before Christmas Song," which is a little gem) are mostly busts, as are the songs with cutesy, childish lyrics ("Where Did My Snowman Go," "If It Doesn't Snow on Christmas").

Gene Autry started out singing country blues, and he never stopped being a musician and singer as his career stretched on to include radio, movies, and television, and he was a star every stop along the way. But he was also an astute business man, and his financial dealings ended up making him one of the wealthiest people in America.

From the early 1930's on, he gained fame as a singing cowboy on the radio, in movies, and on television. A member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Autry made 640 recordings, including over 300 songs written or co-written by himself.
