Halloween
Does anyone know why the track The Prats was omitted on this compilation album? It is the first track on the Rampton album but is mysteriously missing from this compilation...

Edited my previous comment now that I've had a chance to listen to the full Rampton LP. Now I realise 2 things: 'The Prats' is meant to sound recorded backwards; and 'Iron Man' on the LP = 'The Trenches' on the Anthology. Best surprise of all though, was the untitled track at the end of the LP - very atmospheric and disturbing, wish that had been included on Anthology! I wonder if WB was planning to go further in that direction with the cancelled Come double-album, given the evidence of this untitled Rampton track, and the track 'In Country' from Second Coming / Anthology. Shame he isn't interested in releasing the unissued Come material, as I believe discogs member 'mohammedpuss' replied to you elsewhere.

Hi Alan, thanks for your reply! That does sound most logical, even though there is, as you say, plenty of time on the CD to include all tracks. The Come LP is for sale with a certain regularity and well worth purchasing. Kindest, Freek

I'd imagine WB just wanted to present what he considered to be the best tracks from this era. Can't be for reasons of space, as Anthology Disc 1 is only an hour long. Would still love to hear a vinyl rip of Rampton in its entirety just out of curiosity, as I'm sure other Bennett fanatics would. Unfortunately every time I've think I've come across a legit (well, bootleg obvs) Rampton in cyberspace, it just turns out to be the seven tracks from the Anthology comp....

one of the most wierdest and innovative experimental pieces around!! considering the technology of the time. the two pieces from "the new order" pts 1 and 2, are even more bizarre! they are absent of dialogue! and i quote "the sporadic sound events are, at times, difficult to identify". and as for nurse with wound and whitehouse, extremism is the norm of the day! this is a much needed anthology for all sound and noise enthusiasts!!
