Nosferatu is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Helstar, released in 1989. The first half of the album follows a storyline based on the Bram Stoker novel Dracula and includes audio of Frank Langella's performance in John Badham's film adaptation of Dracula. It was the last album recorded by the band before going on hiatus, until reforming in 1995. James Rivera – vocals. Larry Barragan – guitar. André Corbin – guitar, keyboards. This is Helstar’s finest album overall, and as far as composition goes, this album has probably the tightest and purest mixture of traditional metal melody and structure with a thrash metal-based riff style, much like 1986’s Remnants of War. This is a bit less cohesive than that record, thanks to a slightly weaker second half, but the absolute best moments of this album are better than even what Remnants brought to the table, and thus stand as among the absolute best in traditional metal. The songwriting and performances on Nosferatu are absolutely astounding.

Their album "Nosferatu" retained the soul of heavy metal yet was darkly exuberant in a way more akin to the thrashers. Helstar were evolving gradually, but surely, adding new ingredients with each subsequent album (power metal ( Burning Star ); speed/power metal ( Remnants of War ); speed/thrash ( Distant Thunder ); technical speed/thrash ( Nosferatu )) to their arsenal, logicaly reaching their creative peak near the genre’s zenith period.
