Ham Sandwich - Carry The Meek flac album

Carry the Meek is the debut album by Irish band Ham Sandwich. Ham Sandwich had been performing live for several years and had already released several singles before beginning work on their first album in 2006.

We are a band called HamsandwicH from Ireland based in Dublin. Extremely happy to be taking part in the tribute night to our friends Frightened Rabbit’s fantastic album ‘Midnight Organ Fight’ on Saturday the 19th of January at Dublin’s Pepper Canister Church. All proceeds go to First Fortnight and the Scott Hutchinson Foundation. This event is now sold out. Here is a video from The Ruby Sessions we did a while back of Good arms vs Bad arms. We will be playing a couple of different tunes off the album on the night.

While some sound the death-knell for the album ever louder, there are still plenty whose records drown it out. Like this one. Ham Sandwich began to take form on Good Friday 2003 at the instigation of Podge McNamee, Johnny Moore, and Niamh Farrell. Moore and McNamee had become friends while at school in the historic town of Kells, County Meath, once a monastery site that had given birth to the famous Book of Kells, but by then had become a satellite town of Dublin. Carry the Meek was released in February and debuted at number 23 in the Irish album charts, remaining in the Top 40 for four weeks. The album was subsequently issued in the United Kingdom in May. ~ Dave Donnelly.
