Perhaps the band was attempting to use horns like The Stooges did on Fun House - a bleating, repetitive, free-form expression - but Thee Hypnotics' usage of horns on the album backfires, leaving us with songs like "Point Blank 'Mystery'," which sounds like a very bad James Bond theme. Even the relatively straight rock songs, like "Soul Accelerator" and "Coast to Coast," are dull, as James Jones' vocals are buried underneath murky guitar doldrums.
The album is subtitled "Tales From The Sonic Underworld" on front. Printed glossy inner sleeve with band photo and liner notes.
