The cover of Simulation Theory looks like the poster to Ready Player One and Muse’s mining of the Eighties seems just as deep: a set of references that have already carried weight for years. The neon pink cursive font feels borrowed from Drive, which borrowed it from Risky Business. Most of Simulation Theory could be about our surveillance state and/or a relationship. The blurring results in clunkiness: Is this an album about a relationship where the metaphor is about our weird government or an album about the government where the metaphor is a troublesome yet irresistible woman? Take comparing a woman’s words to Propaganda ­(or the other way around): I’m the ocean you’re an oil slick/Now I am choking on your thought pollution/You make me offers that I can’t refuse/You keep telling pretty lies.

Their eighth album, Simulation Theory (2018), prominently featured synthesisers and was influenced by science fiction and the simulation hypothesis. Muse have won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. In 2012 they received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. Muse's third album, Absolution, produced by Rich Costey, Paul Reeve and John Cornfield was released on 15 September 2003. It debuted at number one in the UK and produced Muse's first top-ten hit, "Time Is Running Out", and three top-twenty hits: "Hysteria", "Sing for Absolution" and "Butterflies and Hurricanes".

The discography of Muse, an English rock band, consists of eight studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, five extended plays (EPs), 41 singles, two video albums, 59 music videos and four other appearances. Formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994, the band signed with Mushroom Records in the United Kingdom and Maverick Records in the United States before releasing their debut album Showbiz in 1999.

Simulation Theory follows Muse's 2015 album Drones. The trip for Simulation Theory is bound to follow - the band has actually currently been touring with songs 'Dig Down' and 'Idea Contagion' for the in 2015. Digital artist Kyle Lambert has highlighted the album art work, whose previous work consists of Complete stranger Things and Jurassic Park, while the Super Deluxe cover was highlighted by Paul Carrier who has worked on Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Avengers: Infinity War. Simulation is the man's 8th studio album after Drones, released in 2015. Muse have announced information of their eighth studio album, Simulation Theory.
