Dio is a cover album by Jørn Lande's solo project Jorn, released in July 2010.

Dio was an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 and led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio, after he left Black Sabbath with intentions to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath member Vinny Appice, the band's drummer. The name Dio was chosen because it made sense from a commercial standpoint, as the name was already well known at that time. The band released ten studio albums and had numerous line-up changes over the years with Dio himself being the only constant member.

Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010) known professionally as Ronnie James Dio or simply Dio, was an American heavy metal singer-songwriter and composer. He fronted or founded numerous groups throughout his career, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, and Heaven & Hell. Dio was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where his family resided for his father's service in the . Army during World War II; they soon relocated to Cortland, New York

The first Dio album, Holy Diver, was released in 1983 to universal acclaim. He went on to make another nine studio albums under the Dio name, plus the Sabbath reunion album Dehumanizer in 1992, and the Heaven & Hell album The Devil You Know in 2009. What he left behind was a mighty legacy. Here, we rank every studio album that Ronnie James Dio made, from worst to bes. 0) Dio – Angry Machines (SPV/Steamhammer, 1996). In an era when traditional heavy metal had been marginalised by alternative rock, Ronnie’s attempt to modernise the Dio sound resulted in the weakest album of his career.

Dio endured for more than 20 years with only sporadic interruptions, so there's a wealth of stories, both tragic and triumphant, to be gleaned from their musical oeuvre. First came a string of template-setting records that, in many ways, bridged the best ingredients of ‘70s and ‘80s metal. Then came a batch of more experimental albums in which Dio struggled to find his place in a music scene turned upside down by grunge.
