None of the above are the original. The original is BLUE SEAL from the NATIONAL THEATRE PRODUCTION famed as it opened the National in c. 1952 with the promise of following the supreme court and integrating the National. It was released in Germany, as a Das Beste Shlappenplattenklub, and frankly, was altered, to add Mr. Bubbles. WHY?? Because after Judy Garland used Ira Gershwin to write the movie of A Star Is Born, the neo-Nazi's still running things took it and cut it up. Ira knew his brother George had been killed, and that has been proven, so signed away all rights to all of both of their works, to the New World Music Corp that took over all of the Gershwin's rights. Period. They were part of the Music Publishers Holding Corp. A book was created listing the works of the Gershwins' which was insultingly stupid and still has power. For example, plenty of people have original discs of the original Of Thee I Sing put in the name of Earl Wrightson, and won't release them, leaving a neo-Nazi production in its place. Well, blue seals cannot be copywritten or unbluesealed until 1988. Did they care? In 1955, as I have previously said, Sinatra, Joseph Toner, the real De Paur BTW-it is his handwriting on the disc set, yes, his signature. Well as I was saying they all got together after he was promptly (this means the real De Paur) blacklisted. Part of the new history of the Gershwins was that the original Porgy and Bess was a full 4 act opera (so not true) and the one part by John Charles Thomas, called David and Goliath, a part that was to be a white preacher who was then doubted in "It ain't Necessarily So", and failed to mention that all the parts were put in the names of the German infiltrators Lawrence Brooks/Helen Jepson/and conducted not by Gershwin(it was) by Smallens. They called John Charles Thomas's small part "John W. Bubbles". So, for the 5 years from 55-60 at the Met, bringing in Joseph Toner in 56, he had a couple of pseudonyms, mostly John W. Bubbles! He and Paul Robeson shared the name. It is also why certain recordings that are CLEARLY vinlyite, thus from the war, and others that were grossly altered, by the SINGER and Masterworks Producer, De Paur, who HAD TO BE WHITE TO CONDUCT WINGED VICTORY, and he did. Who sang all of it? OH MY! I will have to post LTG. Leonard DePaur's photo from Winged Victory and his flying cross award. He conducted Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and a lot more of Belefonte, who frankly should come forward and admit he was young and afraid. But there is no doubt. The version that is from 52, blue seal isRB.6552 and dynagroove after skitch Henderson got to it, RB.6552s. From Berlin. The addition of the dynagroove makes it off. I don't know if Henderson did anything else to it. They were trying to wipe out De Paur's work. I would love to the Mono. We have the best version also conducted by the same man, with Ira Gershwin and Kostelanetz involved, which was at the Met, in 44 and broadcast with Narration. FABULOUS. That was the only complete version. I have the photo and will upload it. Oh and BTW, Price was also in a lost production of one of her favorites, "Verdi's Messiah" which also was thought to be lost by the Metropolitan Opera. I did not know why I had a copy. This is the first time I am reporting that I do. It was done in 1960, as part of Kennedy's ANTA program Under Bernstein, who was the then head of the Met, to culturally reach out to the Eastern Block. It was a massive success, but the wall still went up. Tozzi (well I can prove this in another review, but it is my opinion) sent the production, Conducted by A. Dorati, to where? SWITZERLAND! yep. They keep secreted productions, I have a few. It is Switzerland after all. lol. Anyway, Dorati comments on the great historic importance of the August 52 Production of Porgy and Bess by Price! So lets upload those photos! And remember you cannot copyright, or even alter a blue seal album until 1988.
